George Lovell

Tax Director

George brings over 30 years of experience advising owner-managed businesses and large corporates on a broad range of tax matters. A member of both the ICAEW and the Chartered Institute of Taxation, he began his career with two of the Big Four accountancy firms before joining an independent Manchester-based practice, where he spent more than 14 years leading and developing its Tax team.

Tax can be complex and ever changing, and George’s focus is on helping clients achieve their commercial objectives in the most tax efficient way, allowing them to concentrate on running their businesses. His expertise covers M&A transactions, property tax, demergers, employee share schemes, R&D tax credits, inheritance tax, and stamp duty/SDLT.

George is also experienced in providing expert evidence to the courts when instructed by solicitors, acting as a Single Joint Expert on tax issues in both matrimonial and commercial matters.
