Cash flow modelling was at the heart of this fast-moving employee ownership project. When our client needed funding to complete an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) buyout, our experts built a bespoke cash flow model in record time. The detailed information gave lenders the clarity they needed and helped the company complete the move to employee ownership.

The case study below explains more.

Case Study: Accelerating Employee Ownership Transition with a Time-Sensitive Cash Flow Model

The client: A Consultant and training provider in the management of asbestos and other occupation hygiene in buildings.

Turnover: £8m

The challenge: A client in the midst of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) buyout urgently needed financing. Our task was to swiftly create a three-statement cash flow model to support their funding efforts.

Our approach: In response to the time-sensitive nature of the request, we rapidly developed a tailored cash flow model, collaborating closely with the client to ensure alignment with EOT requirements. The model was built with flexibility in mind so that the impact of different funding opportunities could be compared.

The outcome: The client successfully secured financing for the EOT buyout, using the model as a transparent and compelling tool for effective communication with potential lenders. The company is now owned by its employees, allowing them to be more involved, informed and committed to the company and its success.

This case underlines our commitment to delivering agile financial solutions, enabling businesses to achieve strategic objectives, even under tight timelines and complex financial scenarios. In addition to cash flow modelling and assessing the affordability of financing in this transaction, our corporate finance team were also heavily involved in guiding the company through the EOT process.
