Announcing the retirement of Mary Tierney.
Mary Tierney has had anything but an ordinary career! Following a physics degree and a brief stint with John Lewis Partnership’s trainee management programme, she pivoted into accountancy, beginning her journey with Coopers and Lybrand (now part of PwC) and following the chartered accountancy route into tax.
Mary was looking for another challenge when she was introduced to the entrepreneurial Yvonne Wood and subsequently joined the bennettbrooks team. Back then, Mary was one of just 4 that made up the Tax Team and now thanks to continued growth the team now stands at 34.
As Mary retires, she leaves a strong and capable tax team. With a wide breadth of expertise across corporate, personal and specialist tax areas, including Trust and Estates, our team is well positioned to support clients going forward. We have recently welcomed a number of strategic hires to support our already experienced team. Bringing sector knowledge and adding further strength and depth to both our compliance and advisory capabilities. Whether clients are growing their business, planning for succession or navigating the ever evolving tax legislation bennettbrooks are well placed to offer the guidance and support they need, both today and into the future.
When reflecting on the past decade, Mary believes the solution driven ethos at bennettbrooks and the meaningful relationships she’s formed, with clients, colleagues, and professional partners as her highlights.
