Macclesfield Beer Festival 2016

This year's Beer Festival was again held at Macclesfield Rugby Club on 6 and 7 May. With over 250 beers, ciders and perrys on offer the event is always well attended by the town and this year was no different.

There was live music provided by Dazed and Confused, Monkey Harris and Cracked Vinyl and even family entertainment on the Saturda with tombolas, raffles, bar skittles and baloon sculptures. Organised by Macclesfield Round Table in partnership with CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) their volunteers work tirelessly to deliver this event and raise thousands for their chosen charity.

This year's fund raising was in support of Park Lane School: an all-age special school for children with severe learning difficulties. The money raised by the event  is always directed to capital projects and this amazing school is looking to construct a new all-weather play area including easy-access and artificial grass that is designed for year round wheel chair access.

Lorraine Warmer, Head Teacher, Park Lane School, Said: “We have wanted to create a wheel chair accessible play area which our pupils can use all year round for quite some time now, so we’re thrilled to have the support of the Macclesfield Beer Festival committee, Macclesfield Round Table and CAMRA."

A special mention and thanks to Mickey Jones who has again skillfully guided us through this years sponsorship as he expertly manages the event. We look forward to hearing more about it's success and the funds raised for such a great cause in the coming months.

Bennett Brooks and co-sponsors SAS Daniels were delighted to invite a number of local business representatives to a pre-event evening on Thursday 5 May where over 100 people were able to get a taster of the weekend ahead. Here are some images from the evening's events:
